MENTOR

There was someone
who believed in my future even more than I believed in myself.

He never simply gave me the answers.
When I lost my way,
he stood beside me, waited for me to rise again,
and continued to believe in the person I could become.

MENTOR is a song about gratitude and loss,
and about carrying forward what we received from someone
who profoundly shaped our lives.

with a contemporary Japanese sound,
the female vocal begins in quiet reflection
and gradually builds in emotional intensity,
ultimately breaking through into soaring,
high-register shouts. Her voice releases the gratitude,
