Artist Profile

  • AMEFURASHIQUALTET

Amefurashi Quartet is a four-piece band from Aomori, Japan. Blending jazz, pop, and contemporary sounds, the band creates original music written and sung in the Tsugaru dialect, a unique regional language spoken in northern Japan. Their songs capture everyday life, love, family, and the emotions of leaving one's hometown, offering listeners an authentic glimpse into local Japanese culture through music. The band consists of Takamichi Kasai (Vocals), So Tanaka (Piano), Takashi Nozuki (Bass), and Takuya Sasaki (Drums). In June 2026, they released their full-length album "Wano Way," a collection of songs entirely performed in the Tsugaru dialect. Through their music, Amefurashi Quartet aims to preserve regional culture while connecting local stories with audiences beyond Japan.
