This song revolves around the simple yet profound words "Tadaima, Okaeri" (I'm home, Welcome back), symbolizing the warmth and deep bond between two people. It reflects the understanding and support shared in a relationship, where each person recognizes the other's vulnerabilities. The lyrics express how even the smallest gestures of care and love are the most meaningful.
With lines like "It may sound ordinary, but it's probably the truest way I know you," the song beautifully highlights the significance of everyday words and the deep appreciation for the connection with a loved one. In the end, the lyrics "I hope these days will last forever" leave us with a sense of hope for the future and the enduring warmth of a shared journey.
Formed in September 2022, Kototoi takes its name from Kototoi Bridge, which lies along the route connecting the members' homes. While there are two possible romanizations-Cototoi and Kototoi-we chose to go with Kototoi. Based in Tokyo, the group is active mainly around Ueno, Asakusa, and Kitasenju. Their music is rooted in J-pop and rock, featuring harmonies rich in Japanese sensibility and emotive melodies. In recent years, they have also been performing in a full-band style under the name Kototoi6, expanding their sound and live presence. With music that is both gentle and grounded, Kototoi offers songs that resonate deeply with the heart.
