Tanashi Tower, always watching over us from between buildings and open spaces. Contrary to its friendly nickname, its official name is the somewhat surprising "Sky Tower Nishi-Tokyo." The daily changing light-up colors seem to convey messages from the sky: purple for sunny, green for cloudy, and blue for rainy. The daily ups and downs with the tower's whimsical weather forecast are part of the endearing local scenery.
The sense of security when Tanashi Tower comes into view on the way home from afar is like a warm light saying, "Welcome back."
