This album features music from the LP edition of Hear and There, a collaborative sound and visual book created with photographer Mitsuyuki Nakajima.
Together, we spent nearly a year journeying through the wilds of Shiga-its hills, lakes, and nighttime landscapes-capturing field recordings at the exact locations where the photographs were taken.
These sounds became the raw material of each composition.
I invite you to take in the music alongside the visual imagery of the book-let it enter your body, resonate within, and offer you a taste of how imagination can delightfully transcend reality.
Artist Profile
HIRAKU YAMAMOTO
Combining the sounds of acoustic instruments such as violin, piano, and guitar which he plays himself with synthesizers, live electronics, environmental sounds from nature, industrial noise, and various everyday sounds, he constructs his music through a unique blend. As a member of the instrumental band NABOWA, formed in 2004, he has released seven albums and performed at numerous major festivals both in Japan and overseas. Through collaborations with artists across a wide range of genres, he has built a rich and diverse musical career.
