About Smells Like Twenteen Spirit :
August 8, 2024 marks the 20th anniversary of the release of SONPUB's debut solo album ''PHOENIX BEATS (2004)'' and the establishment of his label, PHOENIX PLAYERS, as a music producer and DJ.

The title of the album, which is reminiscent of the very famous songs that influenced the initial impulse of the band, also includes the meaning of ''20 years,'' and expresses the same passion and ambition as ever.
(*Twenteen is a coined word combining the words "twenty" and "teen").
The guest performers are Jinmenusagi, a trusted member of SONPUB, and SEEDA, a legendary rapper of the same generation!
This time, official sampling of emo piano phrases and gospel vocals from 90's metal bands and beats with Drill & Jersey verses express the alternative HIPHOP sound and unique worldview of 2024.
The artwork was created using a MO disk used to store data from the famous MPC2000 sampler that SONPUB used 20 years ago.

SONPUB was in charge of the entire production process, from song production to REC, mixing, and mastering.
The sound is a crystallization of passion and attention to detail.

His greatest weapons are his unique verses and clear sound image construction techniques. He has been running his own music label and studio "PHOENIX PLAYERS" since 2004.     SONPUB Japanese musician/producer (songwriter/composer)/DJ/engineer. His most powerful weapons are his unique "verses" and addictive beats that sublimate various types of dance music from hip-hop to bass, electronic, afrobeats, etc., and his mixing skills that create clear and pleasant soundscapes. He has been a member of various domestic and international labels, both indie and major, and is currently a member of his own label, PHOENIX PLAYERS (since 2004).
