Artist Profile
BANBI
DJ, Beatmaker, Producer, born in Sapporo and currently living in Kanagawa Prefecture. He started his career around the age of 20, and has been actively supporting live performances by various artists regardless of scene, as well as performing in Scratch sessions with bands. In 2022, he was a band member DJ for the virtual singer "Hanafu" and performed solo at the Nippon Budokan. In December 2023, he will be a guest performer as a turntablist and sampler at Shunské G's one-man live show at Shibuya WWW. In DJ play, in addition to scratching to instrumental low beats, he creates grooves with a unique mix that incorporates various elements such as Jazz, Soul, Funk, House, and Reggae based on HipHop from Japan and abroad, bringing the floor to its feet. As a beatmaker and producer, he released his 1st EP "2021" digitally from the label "KAIKOO" in 2021, and toured Kansai and Hokkaido with BAKU, the label's president. On July 8, 2022, he released his 2nd EP "POSSE CRUISE" from the same label. The music video for "Swan feat. In November of the same year, he formed the B2B+1MC unit "BBQ POSSE" with BAKU and Qugo, and released a single featuring his brother. They also toured Okinawa. He is also preparing to release more related works in the future.
