  • FOREIGN RYUU

    Born and raised in the United States, FOREIGN RYUU began his artistic journey in Tokyo in 2022. He started freestyling with friends at the age of 15 and began creating his own music at 18. In 2023, he released his first album, Bunmei Kaika. Blending English and Japanese lyrics over a wide range of beats, his energetic rapping captures a sense of raw freedom and flight. His style delivers an intensity that is rarely seen in Japan. This year, he has unified his sound around a distinct genre, centered on tracks so explosive they feel untethered from the ground. Based in Tokyo, he has hosted and performed at numerous events. In 2023, he delivered a live performance on the main stage of Waseda Festival in front of 4,000 people. On April 26, 2025, he will hold an EP release party at Ebisu BATICA. As a solo rapper, FOREIGN RYUU brings together Tokyo's vibrant artist community, creating and executing unique live formats. From forming teams with beatmakers, DJs, synth players, and rappers to designing collaborative performances, he curates stages that push creative boundaries. At Waseda Festival, he gathered dancers and artists to explore the theme of dreams and express the fundamental freedom of being human. Constantly crafting innovative rap and immersive performances, FOREIGN RYUU is an artist who reawakens the wild essence of life in those who witness him. His presence reminds audiences of what it truly means to be alive.
