This piece is inspired by the moment when mie - the dramatic frozen pose in Kabuki - emerged as a technique of performance.

In Kabuki, movement is often followed by a sudden stop.
In that suspended moment, the actor's body and the audience's gaze meet.

Mie is not simply a pose.
It is a way of shaping time on stage.

This composition attempts to capture that tension -
the instant when motion turns into stillness.
