People, they say I’m crazy
And I tend to agree
Living inside your under
And I can’t disagree
Where once there was some wonder well
My heart’s on the ground
And now I got nothing left to ponder
I ought to pick it up now
Leave it and deny it
Hey let’s start a riot
Regardless of whatever we are worth
And while I keep on speaking
I cannot be seeking
Entitled to my space upon the earth
I’m sorting through the wreckage of
A predetermined crash
Sifting through all the rubble and
I’m building my stash
Garbage can be repurposed to create
Engines in art
And while the world as I knew it crumbles
It’s now die or depart
Leave it and deny it
Hey let’s start a riot
Regardless of whatever we are worth
And while I keep on speaking
I cannot be seeking
Entitled to my space upon the earth
And while this coffee’s bitter
I am not a quitter
Although it may be difficult for some
I will keep on rolling
Someday to be sold in
A bidding war where I am to be one

Artist Profile
Konnichiwa Typhoon
An unlikely group of friends makes for some unexpected harmonies - perhaps the best place to start when describing Tokyo-based slacker surf-rock band Konnichiwa Typhoon. American-born frontman Peter Jens brought his own brand of songwriting to Japan, and after finding a Japanese musical family in Konnichiwa Typhoon, the result became something refreshingly unique. Blending pop, funk, rock and a dash of cross-cultural flair, the band delivers crisp guitar and vocal melodies, layered with three-part harmonies, a steady groove, and the occasional Japanese lyric.
