2014年に橋本孝志(ex チューインガムウィークエンド)が音楽活動を再開。 2015年、橋本孝志 with Dots Dash & Rico名義で活動を開始。年末に行われたcruyff in the bedroomのEPリリースツアーに帯同し、東京、名古屋、大阪、仙台の4都市にて公演、好評を博す。 2016年、無料配信音源「スタンド」「ロスト」２ヶ月連続リリース。それに伴い札幌2days、京都公演を成功させる。 2016年5月、the MADRASとしての活動を開始。 2017年1stシングル「daydreamer」、翌年には2ndシングル「rough」をリリース。 2019年7月、1stアルバム「awake」をリリース。 2022年10月、3rdシングル「colors」、翌年3月には4thシングル「sparkle」をリリース。 2023年6月、2ndアルバム「sprout」をリリースする。
