These days the four seasons seem to be out of sorts. One day there are reports of snow in Hawai'i. And the next day we hear that forest fires in Siberia could not be contained...

What has happened to the seasons?

Everyone has their own memories of the four seasons and what they were like in the past.

This album is an attempt to evoke our delicate memories of the four seasons we lived and breathed in when we were young.

Artist Profile

  • Hideaki Sugai

    I write instrumental music in the Ambient and New Age style with modal and bluesy elements. Using melodies that resonate with the traditional Japanese psyche, my music may stir up a sense of nostalgia for memories of certain moments in the distant past. The themes for my music are motivated by a sense of unease about social issues in our current era which are pertinent to every person. I travel around West Japan to do sound installations using visual images, voice and music. I hope my music can help to raise awareness of social issues and inspire you to reflect on the significance of such issues in your everyday life. Award received: My soundtrack 'Kofun-Tumulus' was awarded 2nd Prize in the 2018 Mima City (Tokushima, Japan) PR Movie Contest.
