I wrote this song to lament the harshness of the world, with all the lies and slander in various circles, and to be an outlet for the heartache of so many people who have been hurt by it.
I have had similar experiences, and I was hurt and my heart was broken. So while encouraging others who have been hurt in the same way, I want to tell them not to give in, and that by believing in yourself and establishing your own identity, paths will open up. The image of the dragonfly splitting apart on the jacket is inspired by the image of a wounded heart.
