What is Kushikatsu? Kushikatsu is said to have originated in Osaka between the early 1920s and early 1930s as a way to provide "cheap, delicious, and quick" food to workers.Ingredients: A wide variety of meats, including pork, beef, chicken, shrimp, and vegetables (onion, lotus root, asparagus, etc.), are available.The most distinctive feature is that the freshly fried kushikatsu is eaten by dipping it in a common sauce pot (tare-tsubo) with the rule that "double dipping is prohibited."
