Artist Profile

  • GAME CENTER & Future Brothers

Biography (English Translation) In 2018, MZA Future (Main Vocals) and Mitch (Rap/Guitar) formed a band under the name GAME CENTER in their hometown of Kanazawa, Japan. Initially, the band focused on an indie emo/folk sound. In 2020, even before releasing their first album, they were selected to perform at Fuji Rock Festival on YouTube Rookie A Go-Go, gaining early attention. In March 2021, they released their first full-length album, LOVE. The track Sayonara Suburban was featured in a TV commercial for Hokkoku Bank, drawing attention not only from the music industry but also from Kanazawas local culture scene. In 2022, seeking broader creative activities, the group changed their name to GAME CENTER and Future Brothers. Under the Future Brothers collective, they welcomed collaborators such as Tokyo-based acts ANORAK and Bearwear, as well as OHSE from Kanazawa-born hip-hop crew 8mileAliens, who is now based in Tokyo. That same year, they embarked on the MIXJUCE Tour, a three-way split tour with Tracks and mother, performing eight shows across Japan. The tour finale at Aoyama Moon Romantic in Tokyo was a sold-out success. In January 2023, they released their second full-length album, Inclusion and Groove, marking a bold shift from their early indie emo/folk roots toward a richer blend of contemporary soul/R&B and hip-hop influences. Later, new members Yasutaka Tanabe (Vocals/Sequencing), Shuya Fujii (Keyboard), and Nikita Uehara (Drums) joined the group. With Shuyas songwriting, tracks featuring Yasutaka on vocals, and recordings with Nikita, the band has expanded its musical palette even further. They are now set to release their highly anticipated third full-length album, Enter The Future, showcasing their most diverse and forward-thinking sound to date.
