For as long as I can remember, I've held two contradictory feelings close to my heart - a fierce resistance to being understood, and a desperate, almost painful need to be seen.

My music has always turned inward, like gently stroking a small kitten's head in the quiet and the dark.

But recently, something shifted. I caught a glimpse of my own reflection in still water - and I couldn't look away.

Perhaps for the first time, this song reaches outward.

It carries my struggles and my discoveries, and I offer it to all the ugly ducklings out there - myself included.
