[Momy] the vocalist of the funk band [Momy Funk!], has launched his solo project, [Momy & The Mega], which means that Momy's musical world will grow by involving many people.

The first album [MEGA] recorded in New York and New Orleans, will be released on April 24, 2024.

This album's producer [Nori Naraoka], a Bassist based in New York who is active all over the world. His crew who he has great trust in have gathered together for this album.

It is a gorgeous piece with different musicians participating in most of the songs.

In order to make this grand project a reality, he solicited support from many people through crowdfunding, and received support from over 200 people.

[Momy & The Mega]'s 1st album [MEGA] includes

"Mega Baby" which expresses the evolved Momy.
"From Here" is a song about the project that invites you to New Orleans.
"Before Goodbye" is filled with the overwhelming power of Cuba.
"Momy the Funk Man" in which Momy performed all the parts by himself.
"Midnight Darling" a ballad that has been kept secret until now.
"Beyond Time" is a collaboration between Nori Naraoka and Momy.
"On a Rainy Night" is Momy's first attempt at playing the slide guitar.

Contains a total of 8 songs expressing new Momy.

    Momy FUNKに根差したグルーヴでエンターテイメントを追求するパフォーマー。主にボーカル、時にコンガ、ドラムもプレイする。 高校在学時に札幌のジャズドラマー舘山健二氏に師事、ドラムの手解きを受ける。またこの頃に、ジェームス・ブラウン、メイシオ・パーカーをはじめとするグルーヴする音楽に出会う。 大学在学中より、ギタリストのハラ☆タカシが主宰するDr.Big Strongのドラマーとしてライブ活動を開始。ハラから音楽の視点を学ぶ。また、この頃に師事していたドラマーのセシル・モンローからグルーヴを"歌う"ことを教わる。 2000年よりカリフラワーズに加入。リーダーのナカムラよりブラックミュージックの薫陶を受ける。4枚のアルバムに参加。2004年脱退。 2007年よりギタリストの大王ruiと意気投合しブギーチャフを結成、ベーシストにモリヤンこと守屋健を迎え、1枚のシングル、3枚のアルバムを残す。大王ruiのプロデュース、ブギーチャフのライブを通じて、パフォーマンスの基礎を培う。 2010年よりモミーFUNK!名義でのライブ活動を開始。2013年、モミー(Vo)、鈴木井咲(Gt)、数井塁(Dr)を固定メンバーとしたバンドとして、モミーFUNK!の活動が開始される。2枚のアルバムを発表。2019年には、フジロック出演、東京Jazzのトリを務め、渋谷CLUB QUATTROのワンマンライブでは、手売りで600人ソールドアウトという結果を残す。 コロナ禍を経て、自身の表現を追求したいとの思いから、ソロプロジェクトを開始。2023年、ソロプロジェクトの名義の冠を『Momy＆The Mega』とする。ソロ、デュオ、バンドスタイルと、あらゆる形態でパフォーマンスを追求している。
