He made his debut as the vocalist of BOØWY in 1982. After the band's breakup in 1988, he launched his solo career with his first single, "ANGEL." In 1992, his single "KISS ME" surpassed one million sales, and in 1993, his album "Memories Of Blue" sold over 1.5 million copies, solidifying his status as a solo artist. In 1997, he relocated his base of operations to Los Angeles, USA, and has since been actively engaged in songwriting and live performances. During his 25th-anniversary tour in 2014, which included 50 performances nationwide, he announced an indefinite hiatus from live performances. As his final concerts before the hiatus, he held the "KYOSUKE HIMURO LAST GIGS" tour in the spring of 2016, performing seven shows across four major domes and drawing a total of approximately 300,000 attendees.
