Mirai no Katachi (in Warafarm)

Tooru Kobayashi

The 4th single from the ambitious "30 Consecutive Singles Release Project" in 2026!
A reimagined masterpiece born from the pandemic era-"Mirai no Katachi" (The Shape of the Future) is out now with a deeply resonant new sound.

Tooru Kobayashi is a unique Japanese singer-songwriter and bassist who travels all across Japan, living and performing out of a self-built mini-truck mobile house. For his 4th consecutive single, he brings new life to "Mirai no Katachi," a song originally composed during the COVID-19 pandemic and previously available only as a rare demo track ("DEMO Vol,7.5").

The song captures the universal anxiety and modern struggles of living in a hyper-connected, fast-paced society where everyone wears a mask to fit in. Yet, through its beautiful, acoustic medium-tempo groove, the chorus delivers a powerful, comforting message of unchanging love: "No matter how chaotic or messy things get, there is no changing the fact that we love each other."

For this special re-recording, Tooru traveled to Goshogawara, Aomori, tracking the core of the song live (bass and vocals simultaneously) inside "Warafarm," a beautiful organic farm restaurant surrounded by nature. To add an extraordinary layer to the arrangement, he overdubbed "Bagui"-a one-of-a-kind custom instrument crafted for him by the legendary K.Yairi Guitars. Neither just a guitar nor a bass, the rich, woody tones of the Bagui elevate the track far beyond a standard acoustic performance into a deeply immersive sonic experience.

For fans of heartfelt indie-folk, acoustic grooves, and raw, soulful storytelling, "Mirai no Katachi" is a profound testament to Tooru Kobayashi's evolving artistry. Dive into his journey and feel the warmth of his music.
