Hakone is a fully improvised ambient solo piano album that translates cherished memories from a trip to Hakone with my partner directly into music.
From the dramatic volcanic landscape (Owakudani) and the serene warmth of a private open-air bath (open-air bath), to the cozy local pub night (Local izakaya), a heartfelt birthday surprise (Surprise cake), and the scenic drive through Shizuoka's lush nature (Drive in Shizuoka).
Played entirely by ear without sheet music or preset plans, each track captures fleeting moments and deep emotions, turning personal memories into a gentle, soothing musical journey.
