The first solo album by Hirakh, a rapper from Million Boys.
Built on a shape-shifting, fluid flow,
Hiraeth captures the time spent leaving, coming back,
and pushing forward through uncertainty,
pressed into a continuous stream of sound.
Demos played in a car on winter streets.
The air of his hometown.
Voices coming through the radio.
There are no shortcuts or flashy answers here--
only what's been earned and built over time.
The shine of jewelry, moments of choice,
moving from city to city,
doubt, pressure, and the drive to keep going.
Every part of it was a checkpoint
in figuring out who he really is.
This isn't a finished version.
It's an honest snapshot before the change--
music made to step outside
without losing sight of where home is.
By the time the record ends,
it leaves you with a quiet release,
like some of the weight you've been carrying
finally easing off your shoulders.
Toward the end of the album, .IX,
a fellow member of Million Boys
and the crew's DJ and beatmaker, joins in.
Their shared time and experience come together naturally,
adding another layer to the record.
Leaving to grow stronger,
then coming back to make that place better than before.
Hiraeth is an album meant to play
somewhere along that road.
