In fading consciousness

That moment when we met

Still lingers deep inside

Memories walking through my mind

A distant past returning

On a cold and silent road

I wandered on alone

Footsteps echo, then overlap

A shadow creeping closer

A hand reaches from behind

Within the memories blown away

A faint, heated heartbeat remains

In this captured, trembling body

Burns the gaze of a restrained wild beast

A breath with no shadow

Draws closer before my eyes

My rigid body trembling

As I shut the ledger of resistance, blocking out my sight

Unaware of the shadows wrapping around me

Rapidly the frost creeps in

A black breath touching my spine

Praying to the hidden light

For tomorrow’s dawn to rise again

In this turning world of white

I found a different self within

Unending, overflowing streams

Of burning liquid fall
