White Peach Morbido is a mid tempo city pop track that portrays the last night of a summer affair, measured against the short life of a ripe fruit.
A doorbell late on the eve of Obon, a basket of white peaches carried in, the faint mark a ring has left on a wrist, a peach cooling in a bowl of ice water, and a knife that halts at the stone create a humid interior scene where the limits of a relationship kept inside one room become impossible to ignore.
Performed by the fictional AI singer Akemi, the song captures the emotions of adulthood that refuses to become the vessel filling someone elses absence.
Rather than agreeing to a season that will never arrive, she sets the date of the ending by her own hand.
Inspired by the late 1970s to early 1980s Japanese new music and city pop, the track reimagines that era lyrical subtlety through images of midsummer rooms, the slow turn of an electric fan, and a sweetness that cannot be kept.
She works the last slice free of the stone, shares it, and turns off the light with juice still on her fingers.
By morning the two stones are folded into paper and thrown away, the time of his train is left unasked, and even the sweetness on her fingertips is given an end.

A music project that reimagines the melancholic mood and nighttime glow of late 1970s to early 1980s Japanese City Pop and New Music through AI-assisted production and human direction. Akemi is a fictional singer with a backstory of being from Yamato City, Kanagawa, Japan. She sings of urban solitude, grown-up love, and bittersweet afterglow in a noir-tinged city pop sound. Lyrics, composition, vocals, and visuals are created using generative tools and curated through editing. This is an experimental project exploring the human warmth and nostalgia that can emerge from AI.
