"jala" is a minimal, late-night EP by kelaku, presenting five emotional snapshots shaped by soul, R&B, and neo-jazz textures.
Built on warm grooves and spacious melodies, the project follows the fluid motion suggested by its title.
It opens with the light, spell-like atmosphere of "Abracadabra,"
moves into the geometric emotional fragments of "SQUARE,"
captures raw energy in the live recording of "Jyo"
illuminates quiet persistence in "Proof,"
and closes with "Kairaku," a reinterpretation of the band's own namesake theme.
Centered on flow, wavering, and inner release, "jala" distills the moments when unspoken feelings quietly melt into sound-an EP designed to accompany the listener's private night.
kelaku Profile Hailing from Tokyo, kelaku is an indie band born from sound and desire. Their grooves melt into the night, while their melodies leave a subtle sting on the heart. Rooted in Soul, R&B, and Neo-Jazz, the band paints fragile emotions through music. The name kelaku comes from the Buddhist term for "pleasure." While it originally signifies a state of spiritual fulfillment beyond worldly desires, kelaku's music instead seeks to lay restless desires to rest. Transforming unfinished, unresolved feelings into sound, their songs gently keep listeners company in the night. Members Vo. mizqui Key. Shunsuke "Spaghetti" Sato Gt. Tetta Ohtachi Ba.
