Kyoto-based artist Yasutaka Okada releases a single from a body of work
born during his residency in Beppu.

"Myoko/rise" is an instrumental piece that translates the moment sunlight
rises from the surface of water into sound - quiet, yet holding a certain
warmth within. Scenes unique to Beppu are woven through layers of
overlapping textures.

The very process of residency - where the memory of a place settles into
sound - lies at the core of Yasutaka Okada's practice. This work is the
first fragment of that journey's record.

    Yasutaka Okada Performer Born in Kyoto in 1985. contrabass/daxophone/synthesizer/guitar/piano/field recording/etc... Plays all the sounds of his own work. Releases the energy of the universe, the afterlife, synchronicity with ethnic consciousness, and connection with the natural world as sound waves into the world. His expression, which feels like watching a single movie, invites us to a deeper world by closing our eyes and blocking one of our senses. As a member of the band kott, formed by Shin Konokawa, the former drummer of jizue, they released their first album "kott" in 2023 and performed at the FUJIROCK FESTIVAL 2023.
