In September 2023, "5Leaf" made a striking debut with "Way of Life," and the music video for "bittersweet," released in February 2024, surpassed 1 million views, generating buzz as a prominent female rapper. She has been energetically performing at various clubs and festivals. Now, she is releasing her 1st album, "bud."
The album features lyrics that reflect "5Leaf"'s personal experiences and everything she has gone through, both the "good" and the "bad." It encapsulates her genuine emotions, with "kotodama" (words with spiritual power) infused into each track, written in the very moments she felt them.
Some of the songs were not originally planned for release, but they are included in this album. Within the internal struggles that have no clear answers, "5Leaf" pours her truest feelings into the music, capturing the essence of who she is today. It's a collection of songs that only she could create at this point in her life.
This album is a reflection of the passion and drive behind the dreams she refuses to give up on and the goals she must achieve. It's an album made with everything she's got-because she is still running toward those dreams.
There are no guest features on this album, making it a pure, uncompromising representation of "5Leaf" as an artist, crafted with intense dedication and focus as her debut full-length.
5Leaf is a rapper from Kure, Hiroshima, Japan. With an innate sense of melody, versatile flows, and honest, relatable lyrics drawn from her complex family background and personal experiences, she brings a distinctive perspective to her music. In September 2023, she released her debut single, Way of Life. The track gained attention on YouTube and social media, reaching No. 17 on the iTunes Hip-Hop/Rap Top Songs chart in Japan. In February 2024, she followed with her second single, bittersweet, produced by ZERO (YVES&ADAMS), whose work spans the mainstream music scene. Its music video has amassed 1.5 million views on YouTube. On February 11, 2025, 5Leaf released her debut album, bud, which reached No. 3 on the iTunes Hip-Hop/Rap Top Albums chart and No. 12 on the Apple Music Hip-Hop/Rap Albums chart in Japan. That November, she expanded her artistic range with the EP En, featuring contributions from Chaki Zulu, Space Dust Club, the production team led by DJ RYOW, and Zen Masuta. In January 2026, she successfully held her first solo headline show at WWW in Shibuya, Tokyo. Reuniting with Chaki Zulu, she released JIMOTO in August 2026, followed by Otoha in September. A heartfelt tribute to a close friend from her hometown, Otoha drew further attention as its music video surpassed 600,000 YouTube views within one month of its release. Turning even the doubts and vulnerabilities beneath her strength into music, 5Leaf creates songs that resonate with the everyday lives of her listeners. Firmly rooted in Kure, she continues to build her presence as an artist who tells her own story on her own terms.
