I have reached the age of ninety-nine. I wonder-had you lived, would we be celebrating this same milestone together? Looking at your smile-unchanged all this time-brings back memories of when we first met. I want to read the postcard I couldn't give you back then, even after eighty years. However, as my eyesight has all but faded, I intend to read it while recalling the time I wrote it.
