About the Album ''Rei''

In Japanese, the word rei is rich in ambiguity, depth, and resonance. It is a homophone a single sound that carries multiple, distinct meanings depending on context and kanji (Chinese characters). This album draws from that multivalence as its central theme.

Two specific meanings of rei are woven throughout the music:
-0 (Zero) - representing emptiness, potential, the unformed. It is the silence before sound, the unseen space from which all things arise.
-rei (Spirit) - a subtle, unseen presence. It refers not only to the soul or spirit as an individual essence, but also to a fundamental, animating force that permeates all life.

Though both are pronounced the same in Japanese-rei-they point to vastly different aspects of existence.
This duality, and the interplay between them, forms the axis of the sonic journey.

Through these layered meanings, the album invites you to listen not just with your ears, but with the space between thoughts. It is a meditation on form and formlessness, memory and forgetting, self and source.
