NISHIKI vol.1 is the first release from its sound-focused session series. Ten tracks by artists based in Tokyo's underground scene, traversing ambient, techno, noise, modular synthesizer, and sound art.

Artist Profile

  • Hybrid Leisureland

    An electronica/ambient composer and arranger working between France and Japan. In 2010, he signed with France's Ultimae Records, and has released music under the names Hidetoshi Koizumi and connect.ohm as well. He transforms inspiration drawn from everyday scenes and the movement of people into simple sounds, always hoping his music can become part of listeners' daily lives. Alongside live performances in France, Hungary, Germany, and Japan, he also provides music for fashion brands, films, commercials, projection mapping, and game soundtracks.

  • Risa Okada

    Risa Okada was born in Obihiro, Hokkaido, and raised in Yokohama. Loving singing and bands, she started playing drums at age 15. After graduating from university, she performed with various bands and met D.W. Nicols, joining the group in 2007. They made their major-label debut in 2009. After nine years with the band, she left D.W. Nicols in September 2016. She is now an independent drummer, active as a support musician for artists including Sekitori Hana, Simon Isogai, D.W. Nicols, Ogawa Kota & Tomason, and others.
