u-full結成15周年記念に制作された5曲入りEP!!
表題曲「The Lake」は彗星が落ちて生まれた湖の物語。
アイルランド、スコットランド、ロンドンへの旅の影響を感じる壮大な楽曲。
「My conflict」はブズーキとアコーディオンをメインとしたシンプルな編成で強烈なメッセージを歌う全英語詩のアグレッシブなナンバー。
3～5曲目はアイルランドの伝統音楽センターClasacの施設内にあるFLOODPLAIN STUDIOにて録音された楽曲を収録。
歌とギターのみのシンプルな編成で、アイルランドの国宝「ケルズの書」から着想を得て書かれた新曲「月も眠る夜に」、アイルランドの伝統的な歌「Down by the salley Gardens」のu-fullアレンジバージョン、「The Sound of the Desert」収録の「星降る丘のアンモナイト」の再録音バージョンと、盛りだくさんな内容となっている。
