Artist Profile

  • WHIMSY

WHIMSY is a self-produced rock band composed of accomplished members who bring their individual expertise together to oversee every aspect of their craft, from songwriting to visual expression. The group features composer YU-JIN, who has provided music for major idol groups such as Nogizaka46 and Sakurazaka46. Vocalist nene infuses the band with a literary sensibility; her solo work, including the track "Lullaby," has amassed over 50,000 total plays. Guitarist KAI not only leads the instrumental performance but also serves as the music video director for both nene and WHIMSY, anchoring the band's visual identity. Formed in 2021, the band took a hiatus in 2022 to allow members to focus on their individual projects before making a full-scale comeback in 2025. Since then, they have released their first single, "Tsuki ga Nemuru Mae ni" (Before the Moon Falls Asleep), and their second single, "Blur," both of which have seen growing success across streaming platforms and YouTube. Expanding their reach primarily through social media, they performed on a special stage at "MURO FESTIVAL 2025" in July. Starting in April 2026, the band will welcome a new bassist, further evolving their sound as a full ensemble. WHIMSY continues to create under the central theme of "connecting emotions and time."
