されど十二単(じゅうにひとえ)は Layered silk in high fashion

いと暑けれど、えも言われぬ顔で汗を隠す

No AC, no electric fans in those days

彼らにとって夏は、命を懸けた Survival game

牙を剥くお天道様(てんとうさま)に、祈るほか無き日々

Ice from Himuro は、雲の上の贅沢

扇(おうぎ)をあおぎつつ Waiting for the cool breeze

時空(とき)を超えて響き合う This crazy heat wave

打ち水(うちみづ)すれど、たちまちに乾く大内裏(だいだいり)

Water on the ground dries in a flash

汗を拭(ぬぐ)うすら「あな見苦し」と Against the rules

恋文(こいふみ)を綴る(つづる)指先も、じっとりと Soaking wet in love

「いと苦し」と嘆きつつ、Chasing the same shadow

千年前の彼らも、同じ影を追う

Global warming と騒ぐ、現代(いま)の陰で

「今年の夏は、いと怪し（異常だ）」と皆 嘆きけり

No technology, no rescue, just enduring

その堪え難き(たえがたき)絶望は Way beyond our imagination
