  • Paul Okada

    Born in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture. In May 1969, he joined the band called The Carnabeats as the second generation vocalist. The group disbanded after 5 months. . From December 1969 to the end of February 1970, he played the role of Woof in Japan's first rock musical "Hair" which was performed at Shibuya Toyoko Theater. After that, he released several records as a vocalist again as a solo, male and female duo. At the end of the 1970s, at the recommendation of Shizuka Ijuin, he stopped his music activities and turned to the advertising industry under his real name Kazuhiko Nagaoka. He worked for the advertising production company JMS Creative Center under Mr. Ijuin's staff for about a year until he left the company to become a novelist. After that, he moved to JMS (Japan Marketing Service) of the main body and continues to be involved in the music industry mainly as a commercial creative director. He is involved in advertising video planning and production and fashion event production. In 2001, with the help of Mr. Hiroyuki Nagato, the founder of Being, who was one year his junior in junior high and high school, he left JMS and established his own company. At the end of 2009, he published a semi-documentary novel "HAIR1969 Kagayaki no Moment" from Asuka Shinsha under the name of Paul Okada. With that opportunity, band live activities resumed for the first time in 40 years since 2010
