Himorogi is an instrumental work inspired by sacred sites of ancient Japan, where it was believed that gods once descended
Through wordless sound it gently weaves together the quiet acts of an individual life awakening personal memories and unseen inner landscapes within each listener
DJ HIKO (GGY) is a producer and track maker who began composing instrumental music in 1997. His career developed through collaborations with established artists and nationwide releases of sports video productions, which marked his entry into professional track making. He later appeared at large scale events broadcast on TV Tokyo affiliate stations, performing talk sessions in front of audiences exceeding 50,000 people. During the same period, he worked as a writer for national sports newspapers, conducting frequent interviews and developing a narrative sense that later influenced his songwriting and production approach. In 2004, through event production work, he connected with international promoters and entered the US music scene. He collaborated with artists and production teams associated with globally recognized acts such as 911, Ne Yo, and Chingy, which led to DJ and production activities in the United States. Under the name DJ HIKO, he released the instrumental album DRAGON. While the release received limited response in Japan at the time, it gained recognition from overseas media. He later built a close relationship with G Wiz, known for the US hit Just Like You, and participated in the production of BANDKAMP Eeeeeee. In August 2008, DJ HIKO served as the executive producer for DEF DAY, a hip hop and R and B compilation album featuring producers who later went on to provide music for top level artists in Japan. Continuing his work as an independent producer, he moved between the US and Japan. Through Junior, who appeared on Yung Berg Sexy Lady, and the BANDKAMP network, he collaborated with artists such as Ben Franklin, DEUCE, DJ MAC, and JIMMY RENEGADE. He remains in contact with G Wiz and G I FLEEZY RIP, and was also connected to Dolla RIP, who had been active in the US entertainment industry since childhood, through the BANDKAMP family. Many of these past activities and connections can still be found on platforms such as YouTube. Drawing from a large archive of unreleased material accumulated over many years, DJ HIKO (GGY) began transforming and evolving his tracks in 2026. By incorporating advanced AI based production tools while maintaining a refined musical sensibility developed over time, he continues to create contemporary works that emphasize continuity, adaptability, and evolution. The name GGY represents accumulated perspective and experience rather than age.
