"Refrain Flower: Memories of Summer"

I composed this piece with the image of memories from the past replaying over and over in my mind-questioning whether things were truly right, and then stepping forward onto the path I had originally intended to follow.

Since this song focuses on the concept of a "refrain,"
its themes are memory and nostalgia.

I wanted to capture the attachment I felt back then,
as well as a certain coldness-like that of a doll-
stemming from a desire to be loved. Personally...
things hadn't gone well with my father since I was in high school;
I couldn't bring myself to open up or rely on him,
yet I harbored a dream-like fantasy
that perhaps, someday, we might truly share a bond.

I look back with nostalgia on that yearning
for gentle affection,
and choose to look forward once more.

The passage of time is like a kaleidoscope;
even twisted love-even things that are misshapen-
can at times seem beautiful and dear,
much like a cloudy sky or a starry night
filled with contradictions.

As I gaze at the sky, reflecting on the happiness of being together
and feeling the passage of the seasons and time...

"Refrain..."
I find myself suddenly thinking about who I once wanted to be,
tracing back memories of things I used to long for...
Recalling those shimmering moments-
like a hologram, sparkling bright-

...as if to reaffirm
where I belong right now.
Realizing that I am the only one who can truly love the present moment,
I aimed to create a song that serves as a reminder
to myself as well.

The flowers and scenery I've witnessed amidst my many memories
seem to watch over me with such gentleness.
I created this piece
with a touch of whimsy and charm.
