TIGHTBOOTH PRODUCTION is a creative production collective launched in 2005 around professional skateboarder Shinpei Ueno. With skateboarding at its core, TIGHTBOOTH has built a distinctive style by treating fashion, film, and art not as separate disciplines, but as parts of a single culture. From the choice of skate spots and trick selection to the styling of its team riders and the way each moment is captured on film, every element connects as part of TIGHTBOOTH's expression. In apparel, TIGHTBOOTH develops collections centered around functionality and its signature wide silhouettes, shaped by an authentic skateboarder's perspective. Through collaborations with brands including fragment design, NEIGHBORHOOD, BlackEyePatch, and Wasted Youth, as well as artists such as Shusaku Takaoka and Kosuke Kawamura, TIGHTBOOTH has continued to expand its presence across skateboarding, fashion, and art. Film production is another fundamental part of TIGHTBOOTH's identity. Released in 2022, the skate video LENZ III was featured by the globally renowned skate media outlet THRASHER MAGAZINE and received widespread acclaim from skateboarders and creators both in Japan and overseas. Now, TIGHTBOOTH is expanding into a new field of expression through TIGHTBOOTH RECORDINGS. Just as skate videos and music are inseparable, music has always been an essential element in shaping the world of TIGHTBOOTH. Rather than being defined by genre or scene, TIGHTBOOTH RECORDINGS creates music with artists connected through a shared sensibility. The fourth release in the series is MILES WORD's Chessboxin'. The track is produced by UK-based producer Frenic. Over a BOOMBAP beat driven by a bounce that also draws from dance music, MILES WORD delivers his versatile and distinctive flow. The result is a track that captures his style exactly as it has been shaped and refined through the streets. Rather than following the trends of the moment, Chessboxin' captures the atmosphere and scenery of the place MILES WORD stands in, transforming them into a fresh sound through a cross-border collaboration. Channeling the singular sensibility TIGHTBOOTH has cultivated through street culture into the format of music, Chessboxin' marks another new chapter for TIGHTBOOTH RECORDINGS.
