Morning steam

Drifting off a chipped blue mug

Sunlight on the kitchen tiles

Dust dancing like it’s enough

Bare feet

On a floor that knows my name

All this living, hiding in the simple

Cracks filled in with moss and rain

Wind folds letters in my coat

Clouds move

Changing shapes above the field

I wave back, just for fun

Heart learning how to yield

Mud on my boots, a slow-burning wish

All this living, salted with the ordinary

Paint peeling where two hands met

Laughter from the distant swings

Pulls me out of what I forget
