I felt like I was being left behind while everyone around me kept moving forward.

While living with that sense of anxiety and inferiority, there was a moment during a part-time job at an izakaya when I realized I could no longer keep up with the conversations of the younger staff. That was when it suddenly struck me: "Am I becoming the kind of adult I never wanted to be?"

As the years go by, the people around you shift to a younger generation.
Before I knew it, I felt like I was the only one left standing still.
