Thirteen years after his 2013 USB album MONACO, Hajime Tachibana returns with dad bb, his long-awaited tenth solo album.

The origins of this album trace back to 1981, when Tachibana toured the United States with Plastics alongside the B-52's. During that tour, the late Ricky Wilson introduced him to his distinctive alternate guitar tuning techniques. dad bb places the unique guitar sound inherited from Wilson at its core, resulting in a singular work that only Hajime Tachibana could create today.

The album also features a new 2026 version of Tachibana's signature track "Modern Things," along with "Sleeper," originally by Kan Takagi. Mastering was handled by Soichiro Nakamura (Peace Music), renowned for his work with Yura Yura Teikoku, bringing exceptional depth and richness to the album's sonic landscape.

Rock and roll, noise, and sonic experimentation coexist throughout dad bb. From Lou Reed to Tom Verlaine, from Ricky Wilson to Hajime Tachibana, the tradition of New York electric guitar finds a new voice in Tokyo in 2026.
