Flower

starclime

Rolling on a garden breeze

Petals spinning in the heat

Sun is dripping golden streams

On every corner of the street

You came like a rhythm in June

Wearing smiles like a brand-new tune

We danced where the lilies grow

On sidewalks humming soft and low

And I feel it coming round again

A bloom beneath my skin

Twisting in a slow cascade

A funk I’m falling in

You’re my flower, rollin’ wild

In the heat, in the beat, like a summer child

You’re the bloom in my song

Spinnin’ sweet, spinnin’ strong—

We just roll, we just roll on

City lights and jasmine wind

Tangle up where our dreams begin

Your voice, a velvet rose

Pulls me closer, no one knows

It’s more than just a feeling, love

It’s a garden we pretend

Every night, the same old groove—

I don’t want this rush to end

You’re my flower, rollin’ wild

In the pulse of the dusk like a summer child

You’re the thrill in my soul

Spinnin’ sweet, spinnin’ bold—

We just roll, we just roll on

Roll with me… where fireflies bloom

Under streetlamps playing slow jazz tunes…

Just one glance and the petals bend—

Is it love, or just pretend?

You’re my flower, rollin’ wild

With your eyes full of mischief and summer styled

You’re the bloom in my day

That don’t ever fade away—

We just roll, yeah we roll

We just roll on

Mmm… we roll on…

Like a flower in the funk, never gone…

Artist Profile

  • starclime

There are still landscapes in music that we have yet to see. starclime is a fourteen-member music project. Taking City Pop as one of its starting points, starclime moves freely through rock, jazz, soul, R&B,EDM, classical music, ambient, experimental music, hip-hop, and musical traditions from around the world. Rather than remaining within a single genre, the project absorbs the colour, rhythm, culture and atmosphere of different forms of music, reshaping them into something new. The changing seasons. Journeys towards unfamiliar places. Memories of somewhere to return to. The distance between people. Feelings that lie beyond words. These landscapes and emotions flow throughout the music of starclime. Some things can only be expressed through song. Others only begin to reveal themselves when words disappear. For starclime, vocal works and instrumentals therefore belong equally to the same musical world. Each member brings a different musical background and a different perspective to every work, while some continue to discover and develop their own musical identity. Rather than preserving a single finished form, starclime allows the music itself to grow through change. starclime does not seek simply to add more genres. Its aim is to renew the way music itself can be perceived through the meeting of different musical worlds. Towards music that has yet to be named. Towards landscapes we have yet to discover. starclime will continue to present new ways of seeing and hearing music.
