PAPER CROWN (feat. Gimmick Drive)

Hoshitarou Akeno&the dark side

Morning traffic by the window

Coins are sleeping in a jar

Someone painted over numbers

On the side of someone’s car

Shoes are waiting by the doorway

Letters hiding in a drawer

Every answer looks convincing

Till you ask a little more

Keep it simple

Keep it small

Leave a space

Between it all

Paper crown

Falling down

Nothing heavy

Makes a sound

Paper crown

Turn around

Maybe losing

Leaves you found

Hold it loosely

Let it bend

Not everything

Has to mend

Paper crown

Paper crown

Wear it till the evening ends

Orange labels on the boxes

Dust collecting on the frame

Someone keeps the old directions

Even after streets have changed

Every table has a story

Every room forgets a face

Funny how the smallest detail

Can completely change a place

Take it easy

Take it slow

Somewhere new

Is where you go

Paper crown

Falling down

Nothing heavy

Makes a sound

Paper crown

Turn around

Maybe losing

Leaves you found

Hold it loosely

Let it bend

Not everything

Has to mend

Paper crown

Paper crown

Wear it till the evening ends

One more corner

One more sign

Wrong direction

Works out fine

No great meaning

No grand plan

Just keep moving

When you can

Paper crown

Falling down

Let the pieces

Touch the ground

Paper crown

Turn around

There are other

Ways around

Hold it loosely

Let it bend

Every road

Can change again

Paper crown

Paper crown

Leave it where the streetlights end

## Gimmick Drive - [Second Gear]

Dry guitars. Low-end noise. A signal coming from somewhere outside the city lights.

Gimmick Drive's second album takes the raw impulse of their debut and pushes it somewhere deeper, darker, and further out.

Sharp guitar riffs.
Heavy bass.
Stripped-down drums.
A voice carrying coldness and heat at the same time.

Written entirely in English, the album moves through the blurred edges of alternative rock, garage, punk, and indie without settling comfortably into any one place.

At times loud and abrasive.
At times strangely quiet.

There is no complete story here.

Only fragments.

Empty roads at night.
Flickering streetlights.
A half-broken amplifier.
Feelings that never found the right words.

Somewhere inside the noise, those fragments connect.

And become a record.

"Japanese girls band" no longer feels like enough of a description.

Gimmick Drive is heading somewhere.

No one knows exactly where yet.

But the engine is already running.
