京都が誇る孤高のリリシスト"YAMAO THE 12"が2025年此冬、
来たる12月3日、活動20年の節目となるこの年に、YAMAO THE 12の「過去」と「イマ」を繋ぐ集大成となる待望の5th Album "Port Of Call" をリリース。

2005年に京都で活動を始めて以来、ストレートな言葉をひたむきに紡ぎ日夜制作とLIVE活動に心血を注ぎ、
2012年にリリースされた1st Album "A New Day Has Come."をはじめ、2nd Album “Another Sky”, 3rd Album "Here I Am." , EP ”When,I'm gone.”, 4th Album ”Wanderlust”, EP ”Cuz'Luv“ , EP “Re:Cuz’Luv“と、精力的にこの20年歩みを止めることなく燦然と輝く傑作を世に放ち、関西、関東、全国各地のリスナーを唸らし、音の海を渡り航海を続けて来た。

そんなYAMAO THE 12が届ける今作"Port Of Call"は、まさにタイトル通り “寄港”を連想させ、これまで彼が巡り渡って来た数々の船旅を、一曲ごとに情景と共に追体験できるような一枚だ。

前作の“Wanderlust”で表現されたある種の“放浪癖”とも云える彼の衝動は、惜しまれつつ2019年に幕を閉じた京都のCLUB“GRiND”への想いへと深く息づき、旅の途中で数多のアーティストと邂逅を重ね、遂に羽を休める港を見つけ珠玉の楽曲と共に錨を下ろす。
船の竜骨となるビートメイカー陣には、呼煙魔、DRUMMIE、GEROGE a.k.a GAMA、Senbeats、Wahkha、PENTAXX.B.F、GITANE BLUE HAZEら、長年の盟友達が名を連ね、彼等の奏でるbeatとYAMAO THE 12の抜群のリリシズムが混然一体に混じり合う。

トルコ語で“お守り”を表す#06“nazar boncuğu”や、イヌイット語で「誰かが来るのではないかと何度も外に出たり入ったりする様子」を表す#08“iktsarpok”と、まるでYAMAO THE 12を通じ世界中へ航海するかの如く、比類なき曲々が透き通った世界へと誘う。
しかしその詩の一つ一つはどこまでもストレートでありながら澄み渡り、「誰かを待っているからこそ進まなければならない」ことや、「今を生きよ」と、普遍的で人間の幸福の原始的な部分に訴えかけるものばかりだ。とめどなく荒波の様に押し寄せる其の“押韻”の数々はしばしば「ライムハラスメント」と評されるが、あくまで紡いだ詩を伝えるLyricsとして抜群に昇華されているからこそ、リリカルなRhymingとして耳に刻まれる。至極の12曲を携え、我々の耳に寄港したYAMAO THE 12。
その往日の航海を讃え、次なる船出までの束の間の音の安息を共に味わってほしい。

    Born December 12, 1986, he is Kyoto's last, solitary lyricist. He began his career in 2005, performing live at clubs every weekend, armed with his straightforward words. In 2010, he joined the label "forte," founded by HAIIRO DE ROSSI. He made a stunning national debut with the release of his first album, "A New Day Has Come." He continued to make great strides with the release of his second album, "Another Sky," in 2014. His third album, "Here I Am.", released in 2016, became a hot topic, reaching number one on the overall daily chart at Tower Records KyotoEven after leaving forte, they released the EP pite the pandemic leading to the cancellation of live performances, in 2021, he maintained a steady release of works with 12 consecutive single releases. In 2022, he quietly resumed live activities, and in 2023, he achieved the remarkable feat of releasing 12 consecutive singles. Live performances took place in Kyoto, Osaka, and even secured a regular event in Tokyo. As they approach their 20th anniversary in 2025, they will finally hold a solo live performance.
