ICONA (pronounced 'Ikoona')

ICONA (pronounced 'Ikoona') is a Tokyo-based digital romantics unit that reconstructs the structural beauty of 1980s New Wave for the modern era.

The unit is led by Tohto Arai, a veteran music manipulator with a 30-year career supporting Japan's top-tier artists. Together with Shinichiro Ohta (Vocals/Guitar) and Hiroyuki Sonobe (Keyboards), ICONA creates a sophisticated soundscape that blends vintage digital textures with urban decadence.

Their production is deeply rooted in the DNA of YMO (Yellow Magic Orchestra), featuring the expertise of legendary engineer Yasuo Kimoto, who has worked extensively with Haruomi Hosono and Yukihiro Takahashi.

ICONA is set to release their debut single on June 1st, 2026, marking the arrival of a new sonic icon in the electronic music scene.
