Yoigoshi no Zeni wa Mochiyasen
(I Don't Keep Money Past Tonight)
"An Edo-born soul never keeps money past the night."
Rather than saving every coin for tomorrow,
he chooses to live today with style.
Lanterns sway through the streets of Edo at night.
After working all day, he slips his hard-earned coins into his pouch
and walks straight through the curtain of a tavern.
One drink for himself.
Another for the man beside him.
Before he knows it, the pouch is empty.
Still, he does not look troubled for even a moment.
"Yoigoshi no Zeni wa Mochiyasen" is a lively Japanese Swing × Hip-Hop track inspired by the bold, carefree spirit traditionally associated with the people of Edo.
Bouncing rhythms blend with shamisen and traditional Japanese sounds,
painting a night filled with sake, laughter, and lantern light.
The point is not simply to spend every last coin.
It is to refuse to cling to money,
and instead value the people around you
and the moment right in front of you.
Tomorrow's meal?
He can worry about that tomorrow.
When morning comes,
he can always earn it again.
Even without a coin to his name, the moon still rises.
A little reckless, perhaps-
but free, proud, and unmistakably Edo.
Liminal Reverie is an instrumental music project centered on the theme between reality and dreams. Between day and night. After the crowds fade away. Moments where reality and dreams have not yet fully separated. Liminal Reverie turns the lingering presence, afterglow, and quiet atmosphere of those moments into sound. The project is built on two complementary musical axes: Japanese side: Edo Lofi Western side: Liminal Reverie Each explores a different world, while sharing the same sense of liminality.
