A Life of Little Prayers
This album is a musical expression of a life of quiet prayer.
Govinda
One of the sacred names of the Supreme,
the source of all life.
We are always connected
to that greater Life,
bound together in an eternal relationship.
By offering small prayers,
moment by moment,
through this breath,
and through this body,
the vessel of the life we have been given,
we live our daily lives in this world,
allowing that harmony
to ripple outward,
like gentle circles upon still water.
With the generous support of musician Makoto Miyata,
I have brought this feeling into the form of music.

Kairava Kirtan
Born in Okinawa, Japan. In 2012, while traveling with her family, she encountered Kirtan, the devotional chanting tradition of India, and began singing despite having no previous musical experience. In 2014, she started performing on the streets of the UK. Since then, she has continued traveling with her children and ukulele, sharing Kirtan across Japan and abroad. In 2016, she became a disciple of H.H. Mahavishnu Swami and received the spiritual name Kairava Devi Dasi. Now based in Okinawa, she leads an annual summer Kirtan tour throughout Japan, while also offering original songs, acoustic performances featuring Okinawan folk songs, Kirtan Practitioner Courses, and music lessons. Through her music and teachings, she shares a life rooted in song and prayer.
