Jazz, pop and funk band AKASUSHO RomaN'Chicks' second single!
"Seaside Town / Turquoise Circle" is the second single of Japanese jazz, pop and funk band "AKASUSHO RomaN'Chicks" led by guitarist, singer-songwriter Sho Akasu.
"Seaside Town" is a song about the townscape along the Futomi coast in Kamogawa City, Chiba Prefecture in Japan.
The sun rises from the horizon and the sky, sea and land turn golden. The moon and stars glitter brightly at night as if it were within your reach. The former name of the town was called Nabuto written as thick sea waves in Japanese kanji characters. As the name Nabuto indicates, the waves are really thick and powerful. Once every 30 years, a festival takes place where a Mikoshi (portable shrine) is carried from Itsukushima Shrine on Bentenjima Island to the land. In the old days, boats were lined up and connected from the island to the land, and the portable shrines were carried across on the boats.
The scenery of the town where time passes slowly and the confession of love for the town by its inhabitants are sung with gentle performance and sympathetic voice.
"Turquoise Circle" is an instrumental song which was created from having a vision of a turquoise blue planet somewhere, looking down from outer space.
The sound combines a unique sense of floating, shimmering, and powerfulness, and as the song proceeds, you can feel colors, luster, and space from the song. This may also be an embodiment of a bond or a state of mind.
The song begins with a melancholic guitar solo and later, it culminates with a stunning drum solo toward the end of the song. This is a song that makes you feel ascending to higher dimensions without moving.
