日本のシンガーソングライターYUGO OGURA「Walking with you - Sakura in Kyoto -」は、初の前編英語で歌うデジタル配信シングルです。
2021年3月22日「桜舞うインクライン」というタイトルで日本語版デジタル配信シングルをリリースしている。
世界最長を誇る京都蹴上インクラインを舞台に、 琵琶湖疏水にかけた明治の人々の浪漫と文明、歴史という壮大なテーマを現代のラブソングに落とし込みました。
蹴上インクラインは、南禅寺の近くにあり、全長582mの世界最長の傾斜鉄道跡で、
高低差約36メートルの琵琶湖疏水が京都の街に到着する最終地点に存在した大難関でした。
まだ流通網が整っていなかった時代、この急斜面に船を運航するため敷設された傾斜鉄道の跡地。 動力となる電気は隣接された水力発電所で発電しました。
超訳はサックス奏者でボーカリストのビリージーンが担当している。
