This is their 1st album recorded to analog tape and not edited by computer. Whole back tracks recorded live off the floor. They are Inspired by 70's & 80's musics. In this world of convenience, what do you think is really important? In a word, simplicity or ease? Just think about it. This album is an antithesis to such a world. This album was made to question the foundation of this world. Since their debut in 2018, this long-awaited first full-length album by the five-piece has always been the focus of attention in the Japanese heavy metal scene due to their tight performances and the energy they emit, which is hard to imagine from their young looks!
HELL FREEZES OVER, are true heavy metal band from Japan formed in 2013. Despite their tender ages, HFO have established themselves as seasoned veterans of the Tokyo metal scene. The band have taken their influences from classic rock, NWOBHM and classic thrash and dragged them into the 21st century, with a familiar, yet fresh sound music. Their debut EP, Speed Metal Attack was released in July 2018, and received good reviews, including one in Burrn! which is Japan's biggest metal magazine. Hot on the heels of the EP came Japanese shows with the likes of Raven, Blitzkrieg, Tygers Of Pang Tang, Venom Inc, Girlschool, and Flotsam & Jetsam. Their acclaimed debut album, Hellraiser was released in August 2020. It was recorded onto analog tape with no digital editing. They also shot a music video for the song, Overwhelm, using 16mm film and released it just before the album. In 2021, the band signed a deal with SLEASZY RIDER RECORDS(Greece) for the world-wide release of Hellraiser on vinyl. Following a brief haitus, the band returned with new members Ikumu (bass) and Nishi-DA (drums). They joined founder members, guitarists Ryoto and Hirotomo and long-time vocalist Gainer to give HFO its tightest and most dynamic lineup to date. Following successful domestic shows in the spring of 2023 with Anvil and Night Demon, the band geared up for their biggest challenge to date. In September, Hell Freezes Over played their first ever overseas shows, opening for Testament, Marduk and Sepultura, in Bangkok and Singapore. To round off a momentous year for the band, December 2023 saw the release of 2 blistering new tracks, The Killing Floor (with video) and Shred.
