Drums and bass hit my empty gut

Felt the sound rise through the concrete cut

Was the beat my hope or proof on display?

A fragment sliced from a vinyl array

One noise cracked

Opened the door

In front of the SP-1200

I carved my life in war

Out for the cash

This beat’s my claim

For tomorrow’s name

No other way

I walk this track of fate

Deep in my studio where no light breaks

A darkened booth — silence starts to awake

Only the speaker bears the truth within

My wandering steps carved loops from sin

In front of the MPC-60-2

I carved meaning into every spin

Out for the cash

This beat’s my claim

For tomorrow’s name

No other way

I walk this track of fate

Still turnin’

Still out for the cash

What I carved into sound — life and meaning

That’s all I’ve got
