God in heaven softly spoke:

“Let there be light upon the deep,”

And in that breath the cosmos woke—

Creation’s heart began to beat

Day One Light from darkness torn asunder

Day and night received their names

Into silent voids the glory thundered;

All the newborn world was bathed in flame

Day Two Waters parted, lands were lifted

Far horizons traced their line

Day Three Life arose, the green earth gifted—

Grass that swayed and flowers that shined

Day Four Sun to rule the fiery daytime

Moon to guard the gentle night

Endless stars across the vault of heaven

Led our dreams with tender light

On the seventh day the Lord proclaimed:

“Live, and learn to love,” He said

Every breath you take has purpose;

Even sorrow’s tears are blessed

This turning world unfolds exactly as I dreamed;

Should doubt arise, know all returns—redeemed

Day Five Seas were filled with silver motion

Fish in chorus, wings in blue

Day Six Beasts ran free across the oceans

Fields and forests born anew

Then humankind was molded from the clay

Hearts to feel, and eyes to see

Formed in likeness of the Holy One—

That is our genesis, our creed

On the seventh day the Voice declared:

“Tears and laughter both are mine;

Life and death are braided pathways

Every soul a mark of love divine.”

When the sun dips low and shadows darken

Morning breaks in eastern fire;

After every night the light will glisten—

Such is the promise of our God most higher
